The campaign
More than a hundred handcrafted levels, arranged as a causeway winding across open water. Each board is tuned by hand so that exactly one opening tap reaches the top star target — which is slow to build, and the reason the campaign grows in chapters rather than continuously. New chapters arrive in free updates and are written up on the update history page.
The map only asks you to pass a level to unlock the next one. The third star is optional, and it is where the actual difficulty lives.
The daily puzzle
Completing it extends a streak stored alongside your save. Missing a day resets the count and nothing else — no lost rewards, no locked content, no notification asking where you have been. Sharing is spoiler-free by design: the card shows your score and the shape of your run without revealing the opening tap. The technique behind it is described in How the Daily Puzzle Works.
Endless mode
A generator that produces fresh boards without repeating, for when you have finished a chapter and want to keep reading ponds. Because it is generated rather than hand-tuned, it rewards general board-reading habits rather than a designed solution — which makes it the best place to practise the techniques on the tips page.
Offline play, in full
- Levels ship inside the app. The whole download is the whole game; nothing streams.
- Progress is written to your device's own storage and is authoritative there. Cloud backup, if you sign in, is a copy rather than the source of truth.
- The daily puzzle is derived from the date, so it needs no request.
- Ads and leaderboards are the only genuinely online parts, and both simply sit out when there is no signal.

Accounts and backup
You never need an account. The game is fully playable without signing in, and progress saves locally from the first launch. Linking a Google or Apple account from the in-game settings backs that progress up so it survives a lost or replaced phone, and enables the daily leaderboard. Accessibility
- A reduced-motion option that calms the ripple and particle effects.
- Colourblind-safe palettes, so lilypad, pink lotus and golden lotus stay distinguishable without relying on hue.

Price and advertising
Kinetic Lotus is free to download and free to finish, with no in-app purchases of any kind — no coin packs, no level unlocks, no premium currency, no ad-removal upgrade. Ads fund it: one full-screen ad between levels, plus rewarded ads you actively choose in exchange for a life or a perk. There are no banner ads, no native ads and no app-open ads, and nothing appears while a board is in play.
